Camp Coaching Staff
Ashley Forshee
Head Coach, New Mexico Highlands University
Coach Forshee's journey from NMHU athlete to proven head coach serves as a testament to the opportunities available to the ambitious young athletes in our program.
While playing as a catcher on the team from 2018 to 2020, she was recognized as a star athlete and earned several scholarship opportunities due to her dedication both on and off the field.
During that time, Forshee’s strong work ethic and deep understanding of the game of softball set her apart as a leader amongst her teammates. When her journey as an athlete was nearing its end, the athletic department recognized her potential and offered her a position on the coaching staff.
With the head coach position vacant this past year, Coach Forshee served as interim head coach for the season and led the team to remarkable growth. Her commitment to excellence set the stage for success, resulting in the best season we’ve had since 2015 and winning over twice as many games as the year prior.
With a deep understanding of the recruitment process, gained from her own journey with college softball, our coach is uniquely equipped to guide aspiring athletes. Her passion for the sport, combined with her experience and expertise, creates an environment where players flourish, develop critical skills, and excel both on and off the field.
At NMHU's 2023 Softball Prospect Camp, participants will experience Coach Forshee's mentorship firsthand. creating an unforgettable experience that lays the foundation for their success as collegiate athletes.
